Blue Camas

Camassia quamash
In the United States: Native · also called common camas, small camas, quamash

Honeybees visit Camassia quamash primarily in late spring for both nectar and pollen, providing an early-season forage source when other blooms are limited. Peak bloom occurs from April to June in temperate climates, with flowers attracting a variety of pollinators. It prefers moist, well-drained soils in meadows and may require protection from deer browsing on bulbs, though the foliage and flowers are somewhat deer-resistant.
