Blueberry
Honeybees forage on Vaccinium ovalifolium for its plentiful pollen and reliable nectar supply during early spring bloom, peaking in May across its range. This deciduous shrub supports bee colonies building up after winter but is better pollinated by native specialists; it prefers acidic, moist forest soils and can be browsed by deer.
