Fremont's Death Camas
Honeybees rarely visit this plant due to toxic alkaloids in its nectar and pollen, which deter generalist pollinators but attract specialist mining bees. Peak bloom occurs in early to mid-spring on grassy slopes and open woodlands. The entire plant is highly toxic to livestock and humans, requiring careful placement away from grazing areas and awareness to avoid confusion with edible camas lilies.
