Honeybees primarily visit Vitis labrusca flowers for pollen during late spring bloom, which peaks in May to June in temperate northern climates. The small, greenish blooms provide limited nectar but sufficient pollen to support foraging without generating surplus honey. Vigorous climbing vines require sturdy trellises or supports and benefit from annual pruning to control growth and encourage fruiting.
