Indian Blanket
Honeybees forage on Gaillardia pulchella for nectar and pollen throughout its extended bloom from late spring to fall, with peak activity in summer. This drought-tolerant annual thrives in full sun and poor soils, self-seeding to provide ongoing bee support without becoming invasive. Deadheading extends flowering but is not always necessary in naturalized settings.
