Prairie Blazing Star
Honeybees forage extensively on prairie blazing star for its abundant nectar and pollen, drawn to the dense, upright spikes that bloom progressively from top to bottom in late summer. Peak foraging occurs during July through September in temperate climates, supporting colony needs in prairie-like habitats. Tall stems up to 5 feet may require staking in windy or fertile conditions to prevent bending.
