Scarlet Sage
Honeybees visit scarlet sage primarily for its nectar reserves, with some pollen collection, though the tubular red flowers are adapted mainly for hummingbirds. Peak bloom occurs from summer through fall, providing a prolonged resource during the main foraging season. As a tender perennial, it reseeds readily and can naturalize, potentially requiring management to prevent unwanted spread in beekeeping landscapes.
