Siberian Squill

Scilla siberica
In the United States: Invasive
Listed as invasive. Check local regulations — several jurisdictions restrict planting.

Honeybees visit Siberian squill primarily for its abundant early-spring pollen, which is distinctly blue and supports brood rearing in emerging colonies when other sources are scarce. The nodding blue flowers also provide moderate nectar rewards. This bulbous perennial naturalizes readily via offsets, forming colonies that offer reliable forage but can spread vigorously in moist, wooded areas.
