Tea Tree
Honeybees forage extensively on Leptospermum polygalifolium for its rich nectar, yielding premium medicinal jelly bush honey with antibacterial properties; pollen collection occurs but is low in protein. Peak bloom aligns with late spring to early summer in northern regions and spring (November-December) in Australia. This evergreen shrub thrives in well-drained soils and full sun but may suffer from root rot in wet conditions; it is not invasive outside its native range.
