Texas Mountain Laurel
Honeybees are drawn to the fragrant, nectar-rich flowers of this evergreen shrub for both nectar and pollen, offering an important early-season resource in arid and semi-arid habitats. Blooms peak in early spring, lasting several weeks and supporting foraging when other plants are scarce. It thrives in well-drained soils and full sun, is highly drought-tolerant once established, but may require protection from excessive winter moisture; note that the seeds are toxic to humans and animals.
