Villose Cinquefoil

Potentilla villosa
In the United States: Native · also called northern cinquefoil, hairy cinquefoil

Honeybees visit villous cinquefoil mainly for its moderate pollen supply, with low nectar production attracting short-tongued species during peak bloom from July to September. The plant forms low, clumped growth in well-drained, rocky soils under full sun conditions typical of alpine and tundra habitats. Its hairy foliage may offer some resistance to browsing by deer or other herbivores.
