White Trout Lily

Erythronium albidum
In the United States: Native · also called white fawnlily, dog's-tooth violet

White trout lily is an early spring ephemeral that provides nectar and pollen to foraging bees during a critical period before many other plants bloom. Peak bloom occurs in April to May in temperate climates, with flowers attracting short-tongued bees including honeybees. It forms slowly spreading colonies in moist, humus-rich woodland soils and is generally deer-resistant.
